Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles into the body at specific points shown as effective in the treatment of specific health problems. These points have been mapped by the Chinese for over three thousand years.
Acupuncture is a treatment based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), a system of healing that dates back thousands of years. At the core of TCM is the notion that a type of life force, called chi, flows through channels in the body called meridians. Each meridian is connected to one specific organ, or group of organs, that govern particular bodily functions. When there’s too much or too little chi in a meridian or when the chi stagnates illness results. Acupuncture treatment unblocks or rebalances the chi.

The heat warms the chi and Blood in the channels and is therefore useful in the treatment of disease and maintenance of health. Sometimes moxibustion is more effective than acupuncture, whereas at other times the two have a synergistic effect.
Cupping
Cupping is a method of treating disease caused by local congestion. A partial vacuum is created in jars, by means of heat or through a pump, which are then applied to the skin, drawing up the underlying tissues to improve blood circulation and unblock congestion. Today, cups made of glass, plastics or bamboo are by far the most common. They are available in many sizes, and selected according to the skin surface and method of treatment.
